HDB | resale 5 room

This 5 room HDB apartment is inspired by the young couple’s likes for trendy Korean aesthetics, where there is a use of minimalist clean straight lines, giving a sense of oneness and simplicity. This is inspired by the homeowner’s wife who is from Korea.
The home features fully white or cream colours that flows throughout the entire space, creating a cohesive space. The mainly rectangular and straight spaces are decorated with straight line patterns, such as the fluted glass at service yard and rounded fluted strips of the dining table.
The placement of the island serves as an emphasis in the home that also provides for the functional kitchen. A kimchi fridge has also been hidden in one of the cabinets giving homage to the Korean K-drama inspired culture of the home. Creation of extra storage spaces in the service yard allows for the mess of housework to be divided away from the communal areas, keeping its spotless look. Ample storage was also created in the walk-in wardrobe to keep the clutter away. Stylish and trendy boba feature lights at the dressing table highlights the wife’s favourite space in the home.
The spatial planning applied allows an open concept for this home. Hacking the study room allows natural light to flow into the communal spaces while creating a bigger walking area that supports the clean aesthetic.
Finishing up the details are functional yet proportionally placed guide lights around the home that leads to the kitchen.
Overall, this creates a clean, cosy and comfortable home that celebrates the nostalgia and culture of the young couple, tied in together with a seamless expression of a white canvas to signify their new beginnings in the newly renovated space that they now call their home.
