Haven on Hamptons
Cavenagh Road | 3- room Condo
Location | Cavenagh Road
Size | 170m²
Type | 3-Room Condo
Year | 2022
This house was designed for a couple with two children and a pet dog who have been living in a landed house. Because their children have grown-up, they seek a smaller home that can house their antiques and memorabilia accumulated, while staying true to their personalities and love for hamptons style – a resort feeling with luxury and
timelessness with a focus on connection to nature.
This condo was designed with the use of whites, beige, light woods, and natural materials such as teak wood, linen, cotton and rattan. The homeowner’s antique furniture has been painted white and reused. The use of shaker doors with black
fittings in the kitchen, and a big island clad with sintered stone stays true to the hamptons style of a luxurious resort.
The big island is an emphasis point that serves as a place where the homeowners can grandly host their guests, be a place for communal gatherings or a place for daily breakfast and afternoon tea. At the dining area, a big curved design feature with display shelvings was designed to highlight the space, display memorabilia and soften the space visually.
In the previous layout, the existing entrance is dark and narrow. A wall was hacked between the living and foyer to create an open-concept space. The open-concept design connecting the 3 different zones of dry kitchen, living and dining areas is perfect for seamless entertaining.
The large balcony and glass sliding doors allow plenty of light to enter the space, making the space feel bright and well-ventilated with a view of the sunrise and sunset. Situated in a place surrounded by greenery, the space was created for a couple to enjoy their peace while staying true to their personality, reminiscent of their past while living a big life surrounded by loved ones.
